Abstract: The research investigates the impact of adult education on environmental awareness. The study aimed to explore how adult education programs contribute to enhancing participants' understanding and awareness of environmental issues. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of adult education in increasing environmental knowledge, to evaluate the impact on participants' environmental behaviors and practices, and to identify successful educational strategies for promoting environmental awareness. A survey research design was utilized, which is effective for collecting data on various aspects of environmental education and its outcomes. A sample size of 270 participants from environmental education programs was selected to ensure a broad perspective. The purposive sampling technique was used to focus on individuals involved in environmental education. The case study was conducted in Delta, Nigeria, where environmental awareness programs were actively promoted. Findings revealed that adult education significantly increased environmental awareness and led to positive changes in environmental behaviors among participants. The study recommended expanding environmental education initiatives and incorporating practical, action-oriented content to further enhance environmental awareness.
